Los Angeles

Since I am 6 1/2 months pregnant, and sitting for long periods of time makes me a tad uncomfortable, we decided to make stop off in LA. It was actually perfect, because it gave us a great reason to see one of our mission friends, Ben Smith! He and his wife just moved to LA recently, and let us crash in their spare bedroom.

So, after getting up at 5:30 AM (T wanted to beat the traffic both in LA AND Phoenix), listening to the Wicked soundtrack over and over, and driving the 7 hours, we finally arrived! Man, LA has some crazy traffic! I thought Phoenix had some bad traffic, but it has nothing on Los Angeles. In Phoenix, the traffic is pretty predictable. If you're going against the traffic, even during busy times, it's smooth sailing. It was crazy seeing him again, but it was fun reminiscing, too! They were very hospitable, and we had tons of fun. So many things I enjoyed doing that night...

1. Eating at this great Mexican Restaurant, The Pink Taco.
2. Seeing the LA temple.
3. Going downtown.
4. Walking Hollywood Blvd.
5. Reading the celebrity squares.
6. Watching a crazy man dance alone on the street.
7. Playing Rockband.
7. Sleeping soundly, on a really comfortable air mattress.

It was great to see Ben, and take a short break from all the driving. The next day, we were refreshed and ready to begin the last leg of our babymoon.

More to come...

I love the idea of a "babymoon." I am so glad you took the time to go and be together. That was one of my regrets, not going somewhere with Deej before we were settled down into family life. We are still waiting for our trip together. We will have to find a good name for it when we go. :)

I love the idea of a "babymoon." I am so glad you both took the time to go somewhere together. When the baby comes you need some adjustments before you can travel, but soon you will be going again with another little friend. :)
