I don't want to come across as complaining (I probably will, anyway).
We have been living in Big Piney for about 2 weeks now.
Throughout these two weeks (probably sooner), I have found certain, let's call them oddities in our abode.
First off, we live in a mobile home.
I have never lived in a mobile home before, so maybe these little quirks are simple 'mobile home living', but they are still odd to me.

(We did live in a trailer, complete with trailer park, the first six months of our marriage, but I'm coming to find out the two are VERY different).
Secondly, with what we're paying on this place, I would certainly expect things to be less 'quirky' than they are.
Third, I only am discussing our home now to show our children one day the kind of home we once called home.
Now finally? When that day comes, I hope we're still not living here.
Alright, here it goes!

The doors seem to not quite fit the door jams. With every single door in the house, there is about 3-4 inches of space between both the door and the floor and the door and the top of the door jam.
The freezer door handle is completely separated on one end. I guess when T first got our stuff moved into the place, he caught the landlord trying to super glue the handle back on. It obviously didn't work, and now, there is a thick super glue residue where the handle should be attached.
I'm going to be nice. The door jams are not the best quality. They are about less than a quarter of an inch thick and practically stapled to the wall.
Plastic door knobs?
Duct tape is holding our window closed. From the outside.
I'm pretty sure this is a mobile home thing, but still. Door going to nowhere? You open the door, and there is about a two foot drop. Going nowhere.
Bathtub drain in the middle of tub. Is this just weird to just me?
Now, I'm an Arizona girl through and through, so I don't know much about vents. However, T DID tell me that a vent in the middle of the room like this is NOT normal.
Now.
I am grateful to my husband for finding this place.
I am grateful for having a roof over our heads.
I am grateful for being able to have a place to call our own.
But seriously, where's the joy in life if you can't make fun of where you're living every now and then?

You are such a good sport Jackie. I admire your "recognition of blessings". You always are so positive in situations that others may "complain". Its awesome. At least the weather is nice and it looks like you probably get a good breeze with the vents in the middle of the room and the doors being to short.
Hey Jackie...I'm a friend of T's from back in the day (I'm from Cokeville) and I just wanted to say hi. I've been quietly stalking your blog for a little while (i like to see how my friends from way back when are doing;) And this last post totally made me laugh. My hubby and I are currently living in a mobile home, and while I do love my home...I've noticed some odd things as well. Nearly all our doors have gaps either at the top (not major, but clearly there) or the bottom (a little more major! lol) Our bath tub also has the drain in the middle...And random vents throughout the house. I was also pleased to see your bright blue carpet, as ours is BRIGHT ORANGE! So know that you're not alone in these "first home" adventures! In a way it is somewhat normal! :D
(thanks for letting me peek at your blog!)
