It's that time of year again...summer time!
The kids have all gone home, moving on to a new school and new grade.
I am so proud of my students.
They worked hard, and did amazing!
I couldn't have asked for a better first year.

I have packed up my room, and am moving to another state full of new adventures that await for me there. I haven't found a job in Wyoming, and I doubt I will.
That's OK. I am perfectly OK with staying home with Baby J this year.
Who knows? Maybe I'll go back to school...
Eh, just an idea...
I learned so much this school year, I find it hard to even know where to begin.
Since it was my first year of teaching, and so much learning/growing happens that first year, I thought it would be necessary to reflect on my findings.
Talk less, listen more.
Let the students do more things ON THEIR OWN
More visuals
More games
More positive incentives
Do more projects
Do more thematic-type units
Repetition, repetition, repetition
More routines
Teach it once the right way, then you won't be teaching it over and over
Use more mnemonic devices
Use more differentiated instruction.
That's just the tip of what I've learned this year... I hope to be able to use what I've learned another school year in the near future.
I guess the next time I posty-post it will be in a different state...

I bet that you were an AMAZING teacher! And you will be an AMAZING stay-at-home MOMMA for BABY J. He will LOVE IT!
That's exciting that you'll get to stay home with Baby J. Staying at home is great. It can be very tiring, but worth it. When an older lady that I used to work with found out that I wasn't coming back to work she told me how great staying at home was and then she said, "I always figured that if anyone was going to mess up my kids, it was gonna be me!" :)
