3 Months!

He's my sweet little 3 month old baby! It seems like he's changed so much this month! He's definitely not my little newborn anymore (I consider this bittersweet)!

New characteristics:
  • He's found his voice.  If we get down to his level and talk to him, he'll babble and coo for the longest time.  Sometimes, it sounds like words, such as: hi, dada, or baba. We know it's mere coincidence, but I still like thinking my son's a genius...
  • He's a smiling maniac.  Oh, he's doing it all the time now.  It's so fun!  Among the many things that make him smile/laugh are: sticking your tongue out, opening your month really wide, angry faces, and smiling at him.
  • He's become more aware of toys.  When we put them in front of him, he looks/smiles at them so intensely.  Sometimes, I put the toy in his hand, and he shakes it all around.  I think he enjoys it.
  • He makes eye contact well now, especially with T and I.  When we leave him on the floor, and get down in his face, he'll stare for as long as we let him.
  • He still enjoys his alone time.  There will be times where he'll fuss until we put him on the floor and leave him be.
  • He's discovered his hands.  He'll put his hands into balls, and either stare at them intently or suck on them.
  • He's started blowing raspberries.  So cute!
  • He's been chewing on his tongue lately, I keep thinking he has something in his mouth.  Nope, just his tongue.
  • Still not sleeping through the night.  He's certainly more aware of when it's time to sleep versus when it's time to be awake and he eats A TON right before going to bed, but he still wakes up somewhere between 4-6 AM.
  • He's been a really good baby lately.  He rarely cries and when he does, it's for things he needs (changing, hungry, tired).
Before this month, it was like taking care of a doll.  Baby J didn't do a whole lot to acknowledge our presence.  It could have been anyone taking care of him, and it wouldn't have mattered.  Now, it seems he recognizes us and knows who we are.  We'll talk and stare at us for hours on end, and it is about the most fun I've ever had.

I'm not sure I could have said this honestly before, but it is so fun being a mom to a baby!

That is so fun. I love his smile. I really can't believe how fast babies grow! He is so cute! I like your Tiger idea. I should do that.

It's so fun to be a mom to a baby! I love reading your posts and see how your baby is doing because our babies are so close in age and are doing about the same things. :) Baby J and Cannon should meet someday.
